Messagses Measure our Success
Demanding schedules sucked in all my time including the one that is reserved for my dear ones. But it all comes to a close at least by 21st of this month, is a consolation.
Running a show requires the involvement of all actors to the best of their abilities. To communicate our mind and mission to members of the team is a great job indeed. Many a times the mission and vision gets blurred, message gets stuck, some times the idea carried in the message does not go down the throat of many. Understanding the culture and context in which the people are rooted is a prerequisite of an effective communication. Language of power and and language of the powerless are different, one must get down to these basics, then only can be accepted by other people. Most of the time we think that only we are right and not other people. Suddenly, comments of my classmates in my college days 'jambada koli' came to my mind. For quite long I used to dump the messages down without waiting for other people to accept it. It was almost like a paper boy throwing away news paper into the compound. I remember my reading of 'Anekannthavaada' in Jain Philosophy, 'Gandhian notion of truth' that did help me to change my position about the notion of truth. Well known Movie Director from Japan, Akira Kursova's movie, 'Rashoman Gate' did reinforce what I read from Gandhi and Jain philosophy. Later I did realise that there are many truths in this world and each one embraces the truth that is convenient and closer to them.
The messages are very delicate like flowers. It is to be dealt with care and concern. We must wait for the other person to accept it, otherwise they get faded or crushed if uncared. If understood and accepted well, the the message communicated would have the desired result. Other point that I feel important is, in a team work, ensure that the feet is on the ground even when the plan takes off. Despite all these explanations, I strongly feel; be sincere to yourself. As I shared earlier, keep ears close to heart and do whatever you feel is required to take the assignment to a logical end.
It looks like my language is improving after I started writing a blog. Hope this spirit cherishes in the days to come and it becomes possible for me to add a grain of happiness in the life all those with whom I am in contact.
