The summer in the city is unbearable. Luckily, we have enough water to have bath twice or thrice a day. Slowly I am feeling the the strain accumulated for the last six months. There are pending works that need to be attended to.

The NAAC PEER Team visit is over. The labour that went into the process of preparing for such visit looks like rewarded. I am deeply touched by the regards that our colleagues have shown. At the end I felt, it was really worth the pain and the sufferings that I underwent. The last nine months were the real testing time in my life. My dad met with an accident and was bed ridden for almost one and half months. Perhaps for the first time in his life my father became dependent on me for everything, including his toilet and shave. This was something that he never wanted to happen in his life. Because he never ever allowed himself to depend on others for anything. To see him suffer this was a real pain. My mother never stayed away from her kitchen and farm. She had not only to stay away for long from those two, and had to see her husband suffer. It looks like the pressure is building up in our team o give the best. Testing times help us to realize our strength and weakness. We also get to know how people react and respond in testing times. Deepak, final year B.Com student designed the cover page of the invitation of cultural program in honour of NAAC PEER Team. It has come out well, Raji said he was delighted to see the printed version of it. It is really surprising to find that many of our students are talented and have potential to scale greater heights in life. I wish we get more occasions like NAAC visit, so that we get to know our colleagues and students better. Visit by the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar has really worked turned out to be very helpful. Of course there were moments of some 'discomfort'. On the whole we gained. Demanding schedules sucked in all my time including the one that is reserved for my dear ones. But it all comes to a close at least by 21st of this month, is a consolation. Running a show requires the involvement of all actors to the best of their abilities. To communicate our mind and mission to members of the team is a great job indeed. Many a times the mission and vision gets blurred, message gets stuck, some times the idea carried in the message does not go down the throat of many. Understanding the culture and context in which the people are rooted is a prerequisite of an effective communication. Language of power and and language of the powerless are different, one must get down to these basics, then only can be accepted by other people. I started writing this to wash off thoughts that stink inner walls of my heart.Best of my works have come up when I was working under pressure. During the past few months there was heavy load on me.Initially it was really nerve breaking to some extent. But the reality of life though tragic is that 'no body is a looser if you loose and no body is a winner if you do'. People have no time to wipe out your tears because they don't have none to do that to them. One has to reassure support for the self. In inner most citadels of our heart we are alone. I was bit schizophrenic about my decision to attend Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD)a NRI convention at Delhi by Ministry of External Affairs Government of India, to represent 'Samveda' an NGO, committed to research and training works for children with learning disability, based in Davangere, which I knew through my Philosopher Guide Dr T.N.S. My interaction with the Chairman Suren was limited till I started traveling to Delhi with himself and his team. I was moved by the concern that Mr Suren has towards children with learning disability. More so when I saw Mr Revanth, who had such problem till some time back, and is leading a normal life now. Mr Revanth is in now studying in Second year B.Com. During our travel to Delhi, I used to get lost, especially when was reminded of my brother Vasanth, whom I lost for ever three years ago. It is tough to keep cool even when your ego is hurt but it is required. After all people are not bad. But to play the right tune even when we are dropped down on the wrong side is something that is required to win the race. Being humble and honest does not mean compromise on principles. We should avoid regrets. If we have the wish to be right then we should also be prepared for all that it values. The load of NAAC work is not something unbearable but you feel lost between the demand and expectations. But is nice to keep oneself busy. Despite this today I am very happy that I could take my ailing son to the Doctor and give the the minimum care although he deserves much much more. I only wish that he is able to attend his regular classes in his 4th Sem Mechanical Engineering. My little devil keeps himself bussy, I love him very much for he knows how to live every minute, his hunger for knowledge and his search for the finest things among the GOD's Creation. I was just delighted by the way our present Vice Chancellor Prof. Shivashankar Murthy deals with issues as a Head of the Institution. If a person seated on position of power is able to see through people and issues around, it is a great quality. I was very happy that we have a leader who can reassure support when you keep working. I have a liking for the Leader because he means business and wants results. You will get what you want and you must deliver what the institution needs. When people cant understand such genuine expectations, fail to operate at the same speed and frequency as their leader, perhaps they fail to live up to up to the expectations, and start searching for reasons to defend their inefficiency. I always trust and believe that to be an expert and a hard worker is the way to success.

Our Collegeaue Prof. Chandraprabha was bit unhappy when she first heard the news that we have given dates for NAAC which was to be day of her only daughters wedding day. Thank God it was postponed to 19th and 20th. Most of us went to attend her daughters wedding in Bantwal. The journey was taxing but it proved to be worth when we saw the rays of gratification on her face. I suddenly felt that there is nothing greater than making people happy and contented. Dr Rathy Ganapathy, Dr Angadi, Dr Nagappa Gowda and my best Half Dr Rajalakshmi traveled together i.n the car. On our way to and from Bantwal, we spoke about lot of things. Of course I had to concentrate on my driving on the Highway. Evening we had interaction with the students of the college in connection with the NAAC visit.

It is great to work in a public institution, for you always have the freedom to dream and be your own. Those who have wrong estimation of myself tried to rope me in to their private domain but I refused to get swayed. Words of my papa echoes in my mind always that one must love the work and keep ones ears close to the chest and listen to what the heart says. I firmly believe that the power of expertise is that some one must develop. Have confidence but not even an ounce of it more than what is really needed. It is like the fat, even a small extra unit of it need to be burnt out. I am nearing my 51st Birthday, & when I look back, I think that we owe a lot to the world and my dear ones who really made my life livable. They showered on me love and affection that never allows my spirit to dry away. suddenly I think of institute and hope my college gets a better grade this time.

The NAAC Peer Team is going to visit the College on the 19th and 20th of this month. I hope this is going to be fruitful and everything is going to work for the good. Uday

It was nice to see many of the old students gain on the college campus. It was delightening to to talk to some of the old students. I want many of them to scale greater heights in life. I felt nice after I spoke to many of them. I see lot of promises in Mr Mohandas Shetty and Deekshitha Varkaady and another boy from BA now pursuing M.Lib. I felt very sad some time through the function that lot of staff who really work hard go unnoticed and those who struggle to to stay stay close to center of gravity gets accolades. In reality those who spoil the curry are considered the best cooks. Alas it is always the case. But I love the college, my students, and those of my colleagues who always remained behind the curtains but doing great job.

Some times you feel very low. But we have nobody to help but ourselves. We need to find a reason for making our day meaningful and worthy
