To my dreams

It is to you my dear dreams that is leaving the college campus. Few days before, i bade good bye to graduate students for the 26th time in my life as a teacher. It is almost the same episode, every time played by different group. Most of the time students don't know who loves them the most, who takes them seriously and who does not. That was true with me too when I was a like them. Of course life will teach them who stands by them at testing time. I am always reminded of the story told my my hind teacher when I was in 8th standard. It was about a goat that did hate its owner and went out in search of freedom. One day it broke open gate and ran away. For a moment it felt on the top of the world. But soon its happiness started fading out. It was caught by person who appeared to be very nice and kind. Soon it realised that it fell into the hands of a 'butcher'. When it was about to be beheaded it was spotted by the owner and was taken back. These young fellows never understand who uses them for what. Most of the time they go by the sweet tongues and bitter hearts. Generally not with bitter tongues and sweet hearts.

To all students my wish is that you must have an introspection about your self on a day to day basis. Don't be stuck either by the beauty of success or by the sorrows of failure; these are just a passing phase and never lasts longer. What you need to carry with you always is the lessons that learn. The experience that stays with you, helps you in testing times. What always appears to be the end may really be a new beginning. Let all your wish come true, work hard, continue your education both formal and informal.

When you feel that you have no one to speak about problems, I assure you my ears are there for you, when you think you are drifted down the current, my hands will always be ready..but..but.. I wish let that moment never crop up in your life. Let your life be filled with lots lots and lots of good things that you do not need my help at all.

 ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತಾ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ” ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಹೊಸ ಶಾಖೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಭಿವೃಧ್ದಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಈ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಅಭಿವೃಧ್ದಿಯ ಹೊಸ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.  ಜಗತ್ತಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಮಾಜಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಚಿಂತಕರು, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಥಾನಗಳು, ವ್ಯವಹಾರಾಡಳಿತ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆಯ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ವಹಿಸಿರುವ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕಳೆದೊಂದು ದಶಕದಿಂದ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ‘ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆೆಯ’ ಸಂಶೋzನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಿದು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆಯ ನಾವಿನ್ಯ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿವೃಧ್ದಿ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವಾಗಿ ಇದರ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕುರಿತು ಚಲಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವೈಭವೀಕೃತ ಕಥನUಳು ಇದೊಂದು ಹೊಸ ಮಾದರಿಯ ಹೊಸನೋಟವುಳ್ಳ, ಹೊಸ ಸೈದ್ಧಾಂತಿಕ ಮಾದರಿಯೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ  ಇದನ್ನು ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣದ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಅಡ್ಡ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ಹೊಸ ಸಾಂಸ್ಥಿಕ ಮಾದರಿಯೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇಂತಹ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಉಪಖಂಡÀದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಗಳೇನು? ಭಾರತೀಯ ಉಪಖಂಡದ ಸಂದರ್ಭ...

  ಭಾರತೀಯ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ: ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಉದಯ ಕುಮಾರ ಇರ್ವತ್ತೂರು ಪೀಠಿಕೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಒಂದು ಮಹತ್ವದ  ಘಟನೆ. ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳಾದುವು. ಒಂದು ಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಶಕ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕನ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಿರುವ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳು ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವು. ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ತನಗಿಷ್ಟ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಪಭೋಗಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಲು ಇದ್ದ ತೊಡಕನ್ನು ಕೃಗಾರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಬಗೆÀಹರಿಸಿತೆಂದೇ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ, ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೀಕರಣ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂತಹ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಲ್ಲ ಒಂದು ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ  ಭಾಗಿಗಳಾಗುವ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ದಕ್ಕುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಜನ ತಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬಡತನ ಅಥವಾ ದಾರಿದ್ರö್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಪಾರಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಇಂದು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ಶತಮಾನಗಳೇ ಉರುಳಿವೆ. ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಮೂರನೇ ಎರಡಂಶ ಜನ ಬಹಳ ದೀನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿಶ್ವಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳೇ ಹೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ  ಶೇಕಡ ನಲವತ್ತರಷ್ಟು ಜನ ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಬ...

MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP

4th of September 2010, Saturday was a not just another day in my life. It was ‘The Day’, our University College was re-accredited with A Grade, something that brought me immense happiness. The way our Hon. Vice-Chancellor spoke about the news and the way in which he celebrated the good news with all those for whom ‘The College’ matters was something that I just can not forget in my life; Hats off to you Sir. As convener of the NAAC Steering Committee, I had a very tough time. I wanted to do it for my institution, which is an icon of social justice in this region. It has given life to thousands of people. For me personally it is one of the most sacred places in the town. Prof H.R. Laxminarayan Bhat, the principal of the College had so much faith in me and made me realize my potential.
